I have tried for several weeks to link up with you. Where is says “You’re Next” should be a link but I can never link up. Not sure if I am missing something. Just wanted you to know.
Thanks for letting us know, Kristi–we really appreciate it! The problem appears to originate with Blenza, in the linky itself. We’re working to address it now, and hope to fix it soon.

Thanks for visiting and for your kind comment!
Very interesting components, trying to figure out what they all are…
Thanks. I’m happy to give a partial explanation. On the “man’s” shoulder and chest are two types of distillation apparatus: a carboy for fractional distillation and a glass retort, respectively. On the “woman’s” shoulder is a Florence flask mounted on a stand, above a gas flame; projecting from her abdomen is a physics demonstration that liquids in connected tubes rise to the same level under the same atmospheric pressure.
Cool!
Thanks!
Happy WW!

Love the corset top in this one. The rainbow is such a contrast to the staid suit.
Thanks, Helen. Yes, I’m noticing the difference more after having made the piece, even though I’d intended the contrast.

Love the colors! It’s my first WW – how do you get the list of all the people who commented? Is it a widget? I’m not familiar with a lot of this
Thanks very much, Vicky! The comments are public, and get published after we approve them. Most people use the “Comment luv” system, which puts live links in their comments. You can click on these to go to their pages.

I often wonder exactly what you’re thinking, when you create all of these interesting collages? I know the thoughts they inspire within me… but, I must continually wonder, how close are they to your own. Of course, I can never truly know. However, you always provoke thought… and, that, is indeed a good thing!
Thanks for your kind comment. Actually, my working method does not involve a lot of conscious thought in the very beginning. I have a belief that images from our past derive a kind of power from what I call the “cultural collective unconscious” (a common cultural inheritance unsuspected by most people), and possess a kind of spiritual and aesthetic life of their own.
Accordingly, at the start, I usually prefer to let my eyes range through the stock of public domain wood-engravings (and lately, some 19th-century photographs) that I’ve been collecting and digitizing for the past twenty-five years. During this phase, I work to stay receptive to what the images want to tell me: which of them ask to be combined together, and how. The answers I receive determine the composition and color of the resulting collages. If I can, I avoid rushing to judge how a collage is progressing, or imposing my own preconceived notions upon the emerging picture. This process can take a long time.
As a collage nears completion, its theme usually starts to emerge, and I begin to think of it in deliberately conscious terms. Most often this is also the point at which the title suggests itself to me, and I begin writing a statement to accompany and “speak” about the collage.
There are exceptions to this work pattern, and occasionally I start out with a pre-planned composition. But mostly, I allow the images to guide me. Thanks again for your kind interest!
This is quite interesting. You use of the bright colour spectrum in contrast with the dark colour variations is intriguing.
Thanks very much! I’m glad that the picture communicated the contrast so well.
this is fabulous work!
Thanks for linking up for WW!
