Collages at an Exhibition

Here, with a tip of the hat to 19th century Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition,  is a cyber-exhibition of some collages done in 1996 and 1997. Please take some time to stroll through the salon and look over the pictures ….  feel free to sign our “guest book” (leave a comment) and tell us what you thought of the show…..

Thanks, Claudia! Welcome to the site, and thanks for commenting on Heaven and Hell. It was definitely from a different time in my collage work; years ago, ages away.

I’m not really a lover of the visual arts but I find the collages interesting because for the first time, I was able to understand the essay composed by the artist. The presentation captures the emergence of an era but from two distinct stand points, the big machines and the industrialists against the little people. Great work!

    • Eric Edelman October 12, 2011, 8:55 am

Thanks, Tony. I’m not sure I had “Occupy Wall Street” in mind when I did this collage; but very often, within the images of industrial works and factories like this, people were used to give a sense of scale to the pictures.

Amazing…. Were all of these done in pen and ink?

    • Eric Edelman October 12, 2011, 8:50 am

Thanks! They were done as collages of engraved print images pasted together.
