Five windows light the cavern’d Man; thro’ one he breathes the air;
Thro’ one, hears music of the spheres; thro’ one, the eternal vine
Flourishes, that he may recieve the grapes; thro’ one can look.
And see small portions of the eternal world that ever groweth;
Thro’ one, himself pass out what time he please, but he will not;
For stolen joys are sweet, & bread eaten in secret pleasant.

Here is my entry for this week.
Thanks for the link, David.
this seems very Monty Pythonish to me
the Linky doesn’t seem to be working???
spring haiku and tanka
The linky is working just fine. Many have commented that my collages remind them of Monty Python visuals. That’s because Terry Gilliam & I are both inspired by the same things: wood engravings, Surrealism, and early films.
Here’s my contribution called “Home at Last.”
Thanks for the link, Meri.
Happy WW!

Thanks for the link.
The senses are so important.
Indeed they are: they’re the windows that light the “cavern’d Man,” allowing us to interact with the world outside ourselves.
That is very neat!
Thanks for hosting,happy WW
You’re welcome. Have a great WW.
Spring seems to waken the senses after the full and lenghty grayness of winter. Great collage!
Thanks! Yes, springtime is a season of sensory delights.
Interesting tree.
Thanks, it was fun to work on.
pretty good stuff!
Thanks, glad you like it!
Very interesting! I would not want to be the man flying on that pole though lol. He looks like he could care less.

Thanks. The original illustration was from a 19th-century book of “after-dinner table science,” and showed a boy attempting to climb a greased pole. I turned him sideways for compositional reasons.

Thank you!

My entry.
Thanks! I hope yours was also great.
That’s another great artwork. And just like what EdT. said above, the colors of the tree really catch my eyes.
Have a great WW!
Thanks so much! I appreciate your kind comment. The tree was fun to work on, and surprised me a bit by the way its colors “popped.”

Happy WW, Daryl.
seriously, one cannot say Happy WW more than once?
Of course not. Happy WW, again.
I really like the layout and symmetry of this one. I’m a sucker for an even layout!
Thanks very much, Helen. I love even layouts very much, but always need to remember that I should break them up with just a touch of the asymmetric.
Happy WW
Thanks, Pearlsa; hope your WW is great.
Great piece of work. I love the vintage feel of this piece. Happy Wordless Wednesday.
Thanks, Melanie. The vintage feel is probably due to the wood engravings, which is one of the many reasons I love using them in my work.
Very cool!
Thanks, Megan!
Didn’t expect William Blake. What a pleasant surprise!
Thanks! But at least four of my previous posts refer to William Blake:
