The patterns of the regular five-pointed star and pentagon have inspired and energized civilization for millennia.

In nature, the orbits of planets and planetoids frequently trace stars and pentagons; five-fold symmetry also appears in plants, and in sea life. In mathematics, the parts of stars and pentagons contain ratios equal to the semi-mystical Golden Mean, or Phi, a number with extraordinary algebraic and geometric properties. In history, as graphic symbols, stars and pentagons have represented—and continue to represent—the extremes of good and evil, and many things in between.
There is a certain dynamic and mysterious potential about five-fold radial symmetry, a sense of movement and life that fascinates us. Our eyes dance back and forth across the star, moving from point to point, comparing distances, running from the hollows to the points opposite them and back again, and then to their neighbors. In our gaze, the star itself seems to dance, and almost to laugh.

Those made me dizzy….that and the mike’s I am drinking
Haha! That reminds me of a T-shirt I once saw: black with bright-colored lines in a big scribbled cloud on the front of it. Below the multi-colored scribble was written: “Don’t Drink & Draw.” Thanks for your comment, Sofia!
So cool is it my eyes or are those moving like crazy pinwheels!
It’s definitely our eyes that are moving (but you knew that, of course

Very cool! Have you done any designs using fractal geometry? Happy WW
Thanks very much, Mary! What a coincidence that you mentioned fractals; just recently I’ve been looking into software to help me do just that. No luck so far–all of the programs I’ve looked at have been too complicated to use, or will not run on my computer. But I’m hopeful I’ll find something soon. Hope you had a great WW!
Hope you find some good software. Fractals are just amazing!
Yes, they are…Thanks for your good wishes, Mary!
